Abstract: Described are lightweight headrests with a perimeter frame [b]200[/b] with an open central region. The open central region is spanned by a suspension membrane [b]100[/b] held in tension. The suspension membrane provides support and cushioning functions to a passenger head without the need for internal structures or compression cushions. The perimeter frame of the headrest may have additional cross members spanning the rear portion of the headrest. These cross members may provide additional structure or locate attachment points for the headrest onto the seat.

Abstract: This disclosure provides a method and system for automated sequencing of vehicles in side-by-side drive-thru configurations via appearance-based classification. According to an exemplary embodiment, an automated sequencing method includes computer-implemented method of automated sequencing of vehicles in a side-by-side drive-thru, the method comprising: a) an image capturing device capturing video of a merge-point area associated with multiple lanes of traffic merging; b) detecting in the video a vehicle as it traverses the merge-point area; c) classifying the detected vehicle associated with traversing the merge-point area as coming from one of the merging lanes; and d) aggregating vehicle classifications performed in step c) to generate a merge sequence of detected vehicles.

Abstract: Methods and systems for logging a wellbore having a casing are described. Acoustic energy, typically ultrasonic acoustic energy, is used to stimulate reverberation of the casing at a harmonic (for example, the second or third harmonic) of the resonance frequency of the casing. One or more acoustic sensors are used to measure acoustic signals generated by the casing reverberation. Parameters of the casing are calculated based on the measured acoustic signals adjusted by an adjustment factor determined by the particular harmonic. The use of harmonics instead of the fundamental resonance frequency allows wellbores with casings having walls thicker than 0.625 inches to be logged.

Recently we told you about 3DInductors. This is a new service that lets you 3D print pure copper induction coils. 3DInductors was developed by GH Induction which is a part of GH Group, based in Valencia Spain and one of the market leaders in induction heating. The company developed its own technology application for 3D printing copper based on EBM (Electron Beam Welding). This is a complex process to work with and dial in for manufacturing. In addition, copper 3D printing has been attempted before by many players only for them to find out that it is much more difficult than they think. Of the players that say that say can do it right now precious few are actually able to deliver parts at scale. What’s more, the 3DInductors team is the first to do this for EBM. Also, it is the first company able to 3D print pure copper. It’s incredibly innovative that the GH Group would go through the significant lengths to develop their own technology and then to launch a direct to customer “start up/separate brand/skunkworks” type of play to bring it to market. I think that this really shows a very fruitful path for staid and large companies to innovate.

I took a 250W PFC demo board, ST-EVL6563S-250W (AN3119 from STMicroelectronics). Its input filter does not contain a DM inductor so I inserted one (#WE-7447709101, 100uH 12mm, 12mm, 10mm) between C4 and L2-3.  A common-mode inductor primary (#ACM7060-301 7.0mm x 6.0mm) was inserted between the new 100uH inductor and L2-3. This CM inductor was used as a 1:1 transformer.  The secondary was completed with a 330nF cap to ground. The input AC current was completed through a LISN and monitored as shown in the pics. I removed C1- 470nF first, then C2-1.0uF then reduced C4- 1.5uF to 330nF. With each cap removal or reduction, the circulating noise current increased, reducing the input noise current. The circulating noise current was 40dB greater than the input noise current. The power factor improved to 0.9997. The steering transformer/inductor had little heat rise. This unit is rated 264 Vac and 60 Hz. The total X cap value was 3.0uF which at 60 HZ = 883 Ohms. At 265Vac, that is 0.30Arms of reactive current and 80 W of reactive power. This configuration would also be helpful in an avionics environment where the power form is of 400 Hz to 800 Hz operation.

Been there. Use mosfets from motherboard cpu power supply! I’v happened to have new-ish motherboard with unidentifiable mosfets, so i’ve tried them with lipo and bigger motor and it worked and warmed up only slightly, so I’ve had plenty mosfets for my project with smaller motor.
